annual halloween carving
in europe, candles were traditionally placed inside turnips and other vegetables to keep them from blowing out. could you imagine using a turnip today? people would say, “hey look at that weird dude with his high-on-crack-o-lantern!”
which brings us to amanda and travis’ annual halloween pumpkin carving. the prize for most original pumpkin goes to ashley and joel, who’s grotesque pumpkin squash brought a new dimension to the ritual — smell.
second place goes to travis and his intricately carved, red-faced pumpkin and amanda wins the award for scariest pumpkin. a mother’s work is never done, therefore penny wins the unfinished-cuz-i-havta-feed-the-baby award. brent takes honorable mention for his tribute to leatherface.
as always, much fun was had by all and thankfully everyone still has all of their fingers intact. thanks amanda and travis, for another great halloween!
